COURSE DETAILS

 

Faciomaxillary Model (Module-7) is a two day course and has a total credit or CEU’s of 20 HRS which consists of 4 HRS Pre Reading and 16 HRS of practical lab session.

PRE STUDY MATERIAL

(1) Understanding anatomy & biomechanics of Head, Neck & Face.
(2) Anatomy of muscles & areas of palpation.
(3) Clinical Interrelationship & pathophysiology of Orofacial Dysfunctions.

COURSE DETAILS & ITINERARY

DAY 1

9:00 am to 10:30 am

(A) Introduction of dry needling in Faciomaxillary Dysfunctions.
(B) APTA, ASAP guidelines for safe dry needling.
(C) Contraindications & Indications of dry needling.
(D) Adverse affects, Precautions & Limitations of dry needling.
(E) Needle safety & infection control, OSHA standard.
(F) Understanding areas of caution in Orofacial region.

10:30 am to 12:00 noon

The functional integrated approach of needling of the following muscles, bands, tendons
& its functional areas of the Head, Neck & Face will be explained in detail with the practical
Lab sessions:
(A) Cranium Functional Areas:
(1) Epicranius
(2) Occipitofrontalis
(3) Temporalis
(4) Temporoparietalis.

12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm

Lunch

1:00 pm to 3:30 pm

(B) Neck Functional Areas:
(1) Levator Scapulae
(2) Splenius Capitis
(3) Splenius Cervicis
(4) Oblique Capitis Inferior
(5) Cervical Multifidi.


3:30 pm to 5:00 pm

(C) Ear Functional Areas:
(1) Auricularis Superior
(2) Auricularis Anterior
(3) Auricularis Posterior
(4) Transverse Muscle of Auricle
(5) Tragicus.

DAY 2

9:00 am to 12:00 noon

The functional integrated approach of needling of the following muscles, bands, tendons &
its functional areas of the Head, Neck& Facewill be explained in detail with the practical Lab
sessions:
(A) Face Functional Areas:
(1) Procerus
(2) Masseter
(3) Zygomatics
(4) Medial & Lateral Pterygoid
(5) Digastric Anterior & Posterior
(6) Orbicularis Oris
(7) Levator Labii
(8) Depressor Anguli Oris
(9) Levator Anguli Oris.

12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm

Lunch

1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

(B) Pathological Intervention:
(1) Migraine
(2) Sinusitis
(3) TMJ Dysfunction.
(4) Facial & Bells Palsy.

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

(C) The functional integrated approach of needling of theFacial Nerve Pain Pathway will
be explained in detail with the practical Lab sessions:

4:00 pm To 5:00 pm
